LISBON — Charges of second-degree felony felonious assault and misdemeanor domestic violence were dismissed with prejudice against Early Donald Simko, 28, Auburn Street, East Liverpool, after the alleged victim admitted to falsifying her statement to police.
Simko appeared in Columbiana County Municipal Court before Judge Tim McNicol on Thursday. According to court documents, the two cases were dismissed at the request of the prosecutor, with a notation which stated "alleged victim admitted to falsifying statement to police."
Court costs were taxed to the alleged victim.
Simko had been accused of attacking the woman with a hammer in East Liverpool on May 1, along with pulling her hair and throwing items and broken glass at her.
Also in Municipal Court, a case against Alan James, 45, Old Irondale Road, Irondale, was bound over to the county grand jury for two counts of assault of a police officer, a fourth-degree felony, and misdemeanors of telecommunications harassment, resisting arrest and obstructing official business. The charges stemmed from an incident April 26 on state Route 39, Wellsville where deputies were called for a suspicious male parked at a business and not leaving. He was then observed standing next to a truck and trailer with a shotgun laying on the tailgate. When approached, he wouldn't give his name and resisted when a deputy attempted to check him for weapons, ignoring multiple commands to stop reaching in his pockets and put his hands behind his back. Once handcuffed, he kicked a deputy multiple times and trapped another deputy's arm in between his. The telecommunications charge stemmed from him allegedly continuing to send text messages to a victim April 25 after being told to stop, also in Wellsville.
A case against Brittany Landacre, 29, Independence Square, Wellsville, was bound over to the county grand jury for a fifth-degree felony breaking and entering charge for allegedly entering an abandoned residence through a window on May 4 in Salineville.
A preliminary hearing was set May 18 for Malik Pullie, 26, Commerce Street, Wellsville, charged with third-degree felony failure to comply with the order of a police officer for allegedly fleeing from police attempting a traffic stop, traveling at a high rate of speed through a residential school zone with several children and teachers outside on May 10.
A preliminary hearing was set May 18 for Lonnie Barker, 39, Irish Ridge Road, East Liverpool, charged with first-degree felony burglary for allegedly punching a door, breaking the plastic molding and forcing his way into an East Liverpool residence on May 9, then grabbing the victim, dragging her outside and throwing her to the ground. Another woman got involved and was also allegedly thrown to the ground.
A preliminary hearing was set May 18 for Robert A. Endres, 34, Rose Drive, Lisbon, charged with two counts of domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony. Endres was accused of assaulting a woman holding a child during a domestic on May 11 at a Rose Drive apartment in Lisbon, pushing and shoving the woman, causing the woman to fall to the ground while holding the child.
A pretrial was set July 25 for Michael Patrisian, 49, Midland, Pa., charged with theft for allegedly failing to scan and pay for 13 items totaling $59 at the Calcutta Walmart on May 6.
David Lee Bradley, 33, St. Clair Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $200 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 167 days suspended and credit for 13 days already served, for endangering children. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Bradley was accused of endangering a child in a residence when he overdosed after using heroin and the child called for help on Feb. 22 in East Liverpool.
John B. Roberts, 39, Goodlettsville, Tenn., was fined $250 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 178 days suspended and credit for two days served, for aggravated menacing. He was ordered to complete 60 hours community service and an online bullying course, along with being ordered to have no contact with the victim. Roberts was accused of making threats via video on social media that he was coming to shoot up the little town of East Liverpool and people at a residence on Thompson Park Road on May 21, 2021.
George Watters, 48, Berlin Center, was fined $800 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served, for engaging in prostitution, possession of criminal tools and drug paraphernalia. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and a 12-hour education course. Watters was accused of arranging to have sexual activity with an undercover agent posing as two adult females in exchange for money and traveling to East Palestine on Feb. 24 for the meeting, with his phone and a meth pipe.
A pretrial was set Aug. 3 for Steven Davis, 47, North Market Street, Lisbon, charged with assault for allegedly assaulting a man on June 28, 2021 in Lisbon.
A pretrial was set Aug. 1 for Kaitlyn Gibson, 27, Dome Street, East Liverpool, charged with assault for allegedly throwing a Yeti style cup at another person while attending a wedding reception at Buffalo Hollow, Petersburg in Unity Township on Sept. 10, 2022. She was ordered to have no contact with the victim.
Charles McQuillan, 63, West Woodland Avenue, Columbiana, was fined $200 and sentenced to 10 days in jail, with credit for three days served, for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. During an incident Oct. 10, 2022, he yelled at police officers and continued screaming and yelling after being warned, then resisted when being taken into custody.
Colleen Murray, 43, Youngstown, was fined $100 and sentenced to 11 days in jail, with credit for 11 days served, for illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for possessing a broken meth pipe during an incident in Columbiana on April 4.
A pretrial was set May 22 for Bill McFarland, 51, Fairfield Avenue, Columbiana, charged with weapons while intoxicated for allegedly having a gun while intoxicated when police responded to his residence for an incident May 8 in Columbiana.
A pretrial was set July 31 for Steven Williams, 42, Mount Vernon, formerly East Liverpool, charged with two counts of failure to pay city income tax and one count of failure to file city income tax return for allegedly failing to pay East Liverpool city income tax in 2020 and 2021 and failure to file a return in 2022.
A pretrial was set May 18 for James D. Laughlin, 32, Dutchtown School Road, Rogers, charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle for allegedly taking a woman's vehicle without her permission on July 25, 2022.
A pretrial was set July 31 for Steven Brewer, 53, New Middleton, charged with possession of drug abuse instrument for allegedly possessing syringes and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on May 4 in St. Clair Township.
A pretrial was set May 18 for Damien K’Wami Clark Jr., 24,Youngstown, charged with driving under suspension, marked lanes, and possessing marijuana.
Richard Monigold II, 43, Ocelot Road, Salineville, was fined $350 for reckless operation, no license and speeding.
Richard Graffius, 46, West State Street, Salem, was fined $150 for possessing marijuana.
Jeremy Yeager, 32, Purinton Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $1,125 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 84 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, leaving three days to serve, for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to stop after an accident.
Erick Rivers Jr., 30, Warren, was fined $145 for driving under suspension and speeding.
A pretrial was set Aug. 1 for Adam Price, 26,Youngstown, charged with OVI second offense and tail lights.
Adam Glista, 37, Benton Road, Salem, was fined $915 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for OVI and assured clear distance. His driver's license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted, and he was ordered to complete 40 hours community service.
Alec Hamling, 38, Alliance, was fined $200 for driving under suspension and failure to control.

LISBON — A Wellsville man who violated the terms of his probation is going to prison for at least three years for multiple charges, including a second-degree felony burglary charge.
Codey Mobley, 28, Chester Avenue, was sentenced recently in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court to a term of two to three years for the burglary count, along with 18 months for third-degree felony domestic violence, 180 days in jail for criminal damaging and 60 days for resisting arrest, all to be served at the same time. A sentence of 12 months for third-degree felony escape was ordered served consecutively to the other charges, bringing the total to three years. If the parole board chooses, the total could end up being four years.
He’ll receive credit for 134 days already served.
Mobley was accused of harming a woman at an Independence Square apartment, with previous domestic violence convictions on his record, and also broke her TV, punched holes in the wall on Dec. 2, 2020 and then attempted to break free while police were taking him into custody on Dec. 13, 2020.
Also in Common Pleas Court:
— George House Jr., 38, Homewood Avenue, Salem, pleaded guilty to intimidation of an attorney, victim or witness in a criminal case, a third-degree felony, a fourth-degree felony domestic violence, a fifth-degree felony of violating a protection order and two counts of misdemeanor endangering children. A charge of unlawful restraint will be dismissed, with sentencing set for Aug. 4. The protection order charge stems from an Aug. 1, 2021 incident. The rest of the charges stem from incidents Oct. 31, 2022 through Nov. 2, 2022 in Salem when House was accused of assaulting a woman and threatening to kill her and knock out her teeth on Oct. 31. Police had been to the Homewood Avenue home to check on the woman and finally made contact Nov. 2, learning House allegedly punched her in the face, made her put makeup on to conceal her injuries and wouldn't let her leave or use her phone to call for help.
— Timothy Peterson, 55, Unity Line Road, New Waterford, was placed on a treatment plan for three years, with credit for one day served in jail, after pleading guilty to a lesser possession of marijuana charge, a fourth-degree felony. Peterson possessed marijuana in an amount equal to or exceeding 200 grams, but less than 1,000 grams.
— Keith Harper, 37, Alliance, was placed on probation for three years, with credit for two days served in jail, for possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, for possessing cocaine on April 20, 2022.
— Richard Monigold, 43, Ocelot Road, Salineville, was placed on probation for three years and ordered to serve up to six months at the Eastern Ohio Correctional Center after pleading guilty to failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony. His license was suspended to three years. Monigold fled from Salineville police, going faster than 64 mph in a 35-mph zone and heading toward Carroll County while passing cars on a double yellow line before police stopped the pursuit on Aug. 2, 2021.

LISBON — Jaden Whittingham, 23, Elmira, N.Y., was served Thursday with a secret indictment issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury in 2020 for a felony charge of possession of LSD for allegedly possessing an amount of heroin equal to or exceeding 10 unit doses, but less than 50 unit doses on June 30, 2019.
