Guardians utilityman David Fry was known to be receiving consultation about a lingering right elbow injury, and MLB.com’s Mandy Bell (X link) reports that Fry had to undergo a surgery to correct the issue. Fry will need 12 months to return to action as a fielder, so he’ll be limited to DH duty for the entirety of the 2025 season. Even in that case, Fry will need 6-8 months just to return as a designated hitter, so he’ll be sidelined for at least the start of next season.
