Tenaris experts on OCTG for geothermal projects to lead SPE Tech Talk

Jun 10, 2023Jun 10, 2023

Registration is open for an SPE Tech Talk to be hosted by Tenaris on the role of tubular technologies in geothermal energy projects. The event will be on 21 February 2023, 09:00 CT.

As part of a series hosted by the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Tenaris will be giving its third tech talk on Tuesday, February 21 at 9:00am CT to discuss the role of tubular technologies and their evolution in leveraging geothermal energy for power and heat generation over the past 100 years, worldwide.

Renewed interest in establishing geothermal as a secure, CO2-free energy source has driven the exploration of geothermal wells towards more complex environments.

"Well depths are progressively increasing, targeting sedimentary formations and well productivity has become a key feature for the economics of a geothermal exploitation," says Paolo Novelli, energy transition OCTG projects director, who, together with Cameron Simms-Michaud, technical sales engineer, will give an overview of Tenaris's product portfolio, which has been fine-tuned to optimize well design and productivity for both complex oil and gas wells and geothermal environments.

Tenaris will be hosting other tech talks devoted to our technologies for low-carbon applications in the following months. Stay tuned.
